What is the best time of year for a group trip to Victoria Falls?
The best time depends on what your group wants most: the thunder of high water from February to May, or clear views and full activities from August to November. See the full season guide.
| Months | Water level | What groups can expect |
|---|---|---|
| January to March | Rising | Heavy spray, lush green scenery, cruises and tours |
| April to May | Peak flood | The most dramatic water. Ponchos are essential. Suits April school holiday trips |
| June to July | High, dropping | Strong views and spray, all activities available |
| August to September | Lower | Clear views of the falls, good game viewing, rafting season |
| October to November | Lowest | Full face of the falls visible, Devil's Pool swimming on the Zambian side |
| December | Rising | Festive demand is highest, so book early |
How many days does a group need?
Three days and two nights is the practical minimum: one day for the guided falls tour and a Zambezi sunset cruise, one for a safari game drive plus optional adventure activities, and one for a cultural visit and departure. Groups adding Devil's Pool, a Chobe day trip or team building should plan four to five nights.
How far ahead should a group book?
Allow 3 to 6 months for groups over 20, and 6 to 9 months for the high water months or the December holidays. Smaller groups can often be placed within 3 to 4 weeks. Check available dates.
What is included in a group package?
Included: accommodation, airport and activity transfers, the guided Victoria Falls tour, a Zambezi sunset cruise, a safari game drive, meals as specified and a dedicated tour leader.
Not included: flights, visas, travel insurance and optional adrenaline activities such as bungee, rafting or helicopter flights, which are quoted per traveller. See activity prices and group packages.
Which group size and pricing applies to us?
Pricing is per person and improves as the group grows. Larger bookings include free leader places.
| Group type | Rates start at | Arranged up to |
|---|---|---|
| Church groups | 10 travellers | 120 or more |
| School tours | 15 pupils, one free teacher place per 15 | 200 |
| Corporate retreats | 8 delegates | 150 |
| Family reunions | 8 travellers | 40 to 60 across several lodges |
Should we see the Zimbabwe side or the Zambia side?
Most groups choose the Zimbabwe side for the broadest views along the gorge rim. The Zambia side offers closer views and, in low water, Devil's Pool. Seongo Group Travel arranges daily cross border programmes into Livingstone, and current entry requirements are confirmed for your group before travel.
What safety arrangements apply to group travel?
For school and church groups, plans use one registered coach per 40 travellers, and school trips use one teacher for every 15 pupils. Only licensed activity operators are used on both sides of the falls. See the full school safety commitment.
